Mamokete leaves Rhythm City
Connie Chiume, who plays Mamokete Khuse in e.tv’s Rhythm City is leaving the soapie.
She has been with the soapie since it started back in 2007,and her leaving the soapie will leave many fans devastated, as she is loved by many.
Fans get to see her until the 20th of April, and her departure is said to be somewhat “dramatic and inspiring”.
“This departure will allow me to pick up on things that were left undone. I am grateful for the time and experience with Rhythm City and e.tv. I believe I was born to be an actress, it’s in my blood. Parting is such sweet sorrow, and I will miss my Rhythm City family,” says Chiume.
Rhythm City Series Producer, Yula Quinn says that they are sad to see her leave as she was instrumental in making Rhythm City the success it is today, and to portray a character that was so inspiring and strong.
“We are very sad to say goodbye to Connie who has been one of the show’s cornerstone characters. The brilliance and talent she brought to the soapie, in her role as Mamokete, has been an inspiration to many. We will miss her on the Rhythm City set and on our screens. e.tv, Rhythm City producers, cast and crew wish her all the best with her future endeavours.”
Connie is not saying goodbye to acting, but she will also focus on the other loves that she has, like farming. She will be greatly missed indeed.
