TS Records, the record label owned by Sibusiso ‘Sbu’ Leope and business partner Thembinkosi ‘TK’ Nciza is closing down
DJ Sbu and TK Nciza are saying goodbye to the record label that they founded together.
Sunday World reported that DJ Sbu and TK are parting ways over “unknown and irreconcilable differences’. The South African Companies and Intellectual Property Commission has deregistered TS Records, because DJ Sbu and TK had not submitted their tax returns of the company, for over 5 years.
“I can confirm that I have not been active in TS Records business affairs for a while but it was not because TK and I fought. We are still OK as brothers. It’s just that he wanted to concentrate on his political career and grow his other business ventures and I also wanted to concentrate on growing MOFAYA,” Dj Sbu told the publication.
TS Records has not been doing all that well for a while now. They lost Nhlanhla Nciza, the one half of Mafikizolo, when she decided to open her own label. They also lost Zahara, who went on to open her own label as well.
DJ Sbu is obviously a very busy man, between MOFAYA and his many business ventures that he has on his plate. So, while DJ Sbu was focused on his businesses, TK was said to have been focusing on his political career as well as his businesses, to the point where TS Records was neglected.
Aah well, I guess all great things do come to an end at some point.
