Relationships are amazing, and we all want to be in amazing relationships that work well, relationships that fulfil us and that make us happy.

At times when we meet someone, it becomes a really beautiful experience. We may feel and experience love that we never thought was possible, and we may remember what it is to love again and to feel loved and wanted.

What I have learned in the past is that you have to know what you want, and you have to know what you are worth. It’s no good being in a relationship that makes you miserable or being with someone who does not appreciate you.

So, here the 5 relationships that you really should avoid if you want a happy one :

Types of Relationships to Avoid

I can’t live without you

Ok, this may seem amazing in the beginning, because you feel wanted, loved and cherished. After a while though and after the excitement fades, you will probably be in trouble. Because they will want to be with you, every second and every day and soon you will feel like you are suffocating. You should go for relationships with a deep love and understanding, but where you are both able to function independently of each other.

I don’t need you but I want you

People who seek these types of relationships are those that just are too scared to invest their emotions into a union like that. Their main excuse is that they just don’t have time, and they are scared of getting hurt so they rather focus on their careers. These kind of people achieve a lot of success career wise but they end up lonely as they are unable to have great happy relationships.

Control freak

These kind of a person in a relationship is one who will want things done their way, when they want and how they want. They will want to dominate you and the relationship and they will want to control where you go, who you see and just about every part of your life.

Rebound relationships

This relationship is purely designed for healing a broken heart, for trying to get over someone or for shifting your focus to someone else. It is extremely common but it can end up in heartbreak for the one who genuinely wants a relationship.

Mr or Miss Right

This is the kind of boyfriend or girlfriend that sounds great in theory, they sound great on paper and they seem to have it all. They are loved by all, except you have your reservations about them. They don’t quite fit the things you want but they seem to fit into what your friends and family want for you.

When it comes to relationships, just find someone that you can relate to, someone who has the same interests as you do and someone who will love and respect you.

There are no guarantees when it comes to relationships. We can only hope for the best and hope that the person we are with is being honest about their intentions.
