Chelsea appoint Italy boss Antonio Conte as their new first team head coach on a three year deal for the new premier league season 2016/2017.

Announcing the deal, Chelsea director said ” We are very pleased to have recruited the most highly regarded managers in the world of football and we are pleased to do it before the start of the new season so as to aid future planning.”

The former Juventus manager won three straight Serie A titles with Juventus between 2011-2014. Conte has guided Italy to 10 unbeaten Euro qualifying games and will see them through the Euro 2016 before taking over at Chelsea which should be sometime in July.

Conte will become the fifth Italian manager to manage Chelsea after the likes of Carlos Ancelotti, Roberto Di Mateo, Gianluca Vialli and Claudio Ranieri. Chelsea currently sit at position 10 in the current English Premier League table and it is unlikely that they will qualify for European competition in the first season in charge of Chelsea.
