Minnie Dlamini says no to doing Live Amp
Minnie Dlamini’s management have confirmed that she had to say no to a job at the SABC, as the new Live Amp presenter.
The SABC is eager to replace Pearl Thusi who left the show about 3 weeks ago. Pearl is focusing on her new gig as the new host of MTV’s Lip Sync Africa Battle, which she will be hosting with Nigeria’s D’Banj.
Pearl had issues with the SABC, after she was suspended from her Metro FM show, because of Bonang Matheba.
A week after Pearl left Live Amp, Bonang was brought in to guest host the show with DJ Warras, and the search for Pearl’s replacement continues.
Minnie was apparently the first person to be approached by the SABC as a possible replacement, but she had to turn them down, reported the Sunday World.
“She was the first to be approached. Unfortunately she could not accept the job as she is currently overcommitted and busy with her foundation and Soccer Zone. All the projects need her attention and she also has a few more projects lined up which we will announce soon,” Minnie’s publicist Jarred Doyle said.
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirmed that the SABC did approach Minnie for the position. Live amp will bring in guest hosts until a permanent replacement is found for Pearl Thusi.
