Six more Nigerian wrestlers have qualifies for the 2016 Rio Olympics scheduled for August
The six were part of the ten wrestlers who represented Nigeria at the just concluded African/ Oceania Olympic qualifiers that was held in Algeria.
The six, four female and two men join Odunayo Adekuoroye who had qualified earlier after winning a bronze medal in the 53kg weight class at the World Championship held in 2015 in Las Vegas USA.
The two men Amas Daniel and Soso Tamara competing in the 65kg and 97 kg freestyle class respectively, were the last to qualify on Sunday. The ladies, Mercy Genesis, Aminat Adeniyi, Blessing Oborududu and Hannah Reuben, competed in the 48kg, 58kg, 63kg and 69kg, respectively.
The seven makes Nigeria the country with the highest number of wrestling representatives in Africa. Mercy Genesis who is the all African games champion was the star of the day after winning all her bouts against competitors from Cameroon and Australia.
