Rhythm City is planning the exit scenes for actor Dumi Masilela, who was killed during a botched hijacking in Tembisa, last month. They are going to replicate the real events that resulted in Dumi losing his life, when they write Sfiso Ngema out of the soapie.
Sfiso Ngema, played by Dumi Masilela is going to be killed off in October.
“After an extensive consultation with the Masilela family, the producers of Rhythm City have decided to incorporate Dumi Masilela’s tragic death into the exit storyline of his character. The show’s producers decided to use Sifiso’s exit story as a way to pay tribute to Dumi’s work as an actor and to highlight the tragedy of unnecessary violence that plagues our cities‚” said producer Yula Quinn.
Dumi Masilela will be seen on Rhythm City for the last time on the 11th of October‚ and this episode is set to be followed by a special on-screen memorial service to honour him on the 18th of October.
According to Sunday World, his mother and his brother will also be in the episode.
Dumisani Masilela died tragically hospital after he was shot in Tembisa, back in August. It’s sad to know we only have until October to see on the soapie, and it’s just going to be sad all over again.
He will be greatly missed. . .
