How to live your life more positively

Struggling to get out of bed everyday, to the point where you have to fight with yourself, and beg yourself to do it? You have to bribe yourself, to persuade yourself to get out of bed.

You put the alarm on snooze for at least 5 times. It all would be so much simpler if you just switched off your alarm, get out of bed and get started with your day.

Instead, all you want to do is stay in bed, because in your mind, even if you got out of bed, nothing would go your way anyway. It feels like the universe is conspiring against you, to keep you in that state of mediocre, where things don’t work out.

This is a terrible way to live, and if you want something better, something different, you have got to shake it off, and start thinking and believing that great things can also happen for you.

You have a choice to make! 

You can choose a better life than the one you have, you can choose to be more positive about your life OR you can continue on this path that you are on already. You can choose to stay unhappy, depressed and pessimistic about life. It’s all up to you!

How to live more positively

Kick these phrases out of your vocab

“Nothing ever works out for me”, “I should have known”, “I just can’t catch a break”. Phrases like these just put you more at a disadvantage. You need to stop saying them, and you need to stop using them.

Refuse to be part of the misery

Refuse to be a part of the bitter misery-filled life. Your friends, colleagues, siblings or whoever will want to get you involved, they will want you to help them complain some more, or involve you as they feel pity for themselves. Tell them with love that you cannot continue to be a part of that.

Don’t dwell on the negativity. Acknowledge that it’s there, it’s how you feel, but move on to happier things. Release it and let it go!

Turn the disappointment around

So you failed at something, we all do. Don’t dwell on the fact that you failed, learn something from that failure and move on. Tackle something else, and complete it. It could be something that you have been putting off and meaning to do  . . . this would be a great time to do it, complete it and feel a sense of accomplishment again. If anything, it will move your focus from the point of failure, to something more positive.

Be grateful

When it all becomes too much, and you are stressed, sad or depressed, just stop and say thank you. To anything . . . the meal you just had, your family, your house, the clothes that you have, the job that you have. Just start showing gratitude for the things you have, no matter how small they may seem.

Do something nice for someone else

In your sadness or stressed state, do something nice for someone else, make someone smile. Smile at a stranger, buy a stranger a cup of coffee,  play with a kid, buy them a balloon, whatever comes to mind. Doing this will improve someones day, and it will also make you feel great.

Conclusion

Being happy and being positive about life takes some effort.

Complaining and focusing on everything that is wrong is just so much easier than choosing to be positive and choosing to be happy.

Everyday gives you a choice, about how you want your day to be, about the direction you want your life to go. It’s all up to you!

You have to make time for the great things that life has to offer, you have to strive to be happy.
