Twitter Inc. recently launched its latest feature called ‘Moments’ through which one can use it to track big events as they happen. Now within less than a month of its launch, Twitter had decided to encash on it and has given a green signal to allow advertisements to start surfacing on it.
As per Bloomberg, Twitter will be providing the advertisers with a dedicated channel on Moments for about 24 hours during which the advertisers would be able to curate tweets, videos or any other related content. The first client to take advantage of this Promoted Moments is going to be top decision making crew of the new movie ‘Creed’ from MGM, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema.
Promoted Moments provides a fresh perspective to the trend of native advertising and delivers promotions that look similar to any other content which makes them less easily ignored by the increasingly frustrated and ad-weary Internet users. The new initiative bears a strong resemblance to what Twitter has been doing with its promoted tweets. But there is difference as the Promoted Moments allow the advertisers to make a more powerful advertisement by incorporating more photos, videos and tweets to culminate in a much more comprehensive story.
